We mainly grant sponsorships to projects and activities that stimulate the local business community and create a positive ripple effect that reaches as many Åland-based businesses and entrepreneurs as possible. We also support activities that will help us as a wind energy company to recruit co-workers locally in the future.

Ilmatar Offshore primarily collaborates with local partners in the regions where we are active, since we want to promote and support the places we call home.
The aim of our sponsorship agreements is to further our strategic goals and to strengthen our identity, but we also want to make a positive contribution to our partners’ brand identities. The goal is to become stronger through shared engagement and to proudly promote each other in various contexts.
When it comes to partnerships, enduring and close collaboration yields the best results. This is why we prefer long-term agreements and strive to have regular contact with our partners.
Within the framework our sponsorships, we aim to create visibility both for the project and for Ilmatar Offshore as a sponsor. These aims are realized through PR work, events, advertisements, social media, and other external communication channels.
Grant applications may be submitted annually even by those who have previously been granted sponsorships.
Ilmatar Offshore accepts grant applications continuously and grants are paid out as soon as a decision is made. Applications are reviewed by our management team and decisions are communicated to applicants promptly.

We expect all our sponsored partners to stand behind Ilmatar’s Code of Conduct. This document includes our principles involving, for example, human rights, corruption, discrimination as well as sustainability and environment-related issues. Considering these are the principles we live by, expecting sponsorees to adhere to the same values is quite natural, since we hope to collaborate with the like-minded.
Ilmatar Energy Ltd and its group (below “Ilmatar”) commits to the principles presented in this Code of Conduct (below “Code”).
All employees at Ilmatar are expected to adhere to this Code and are provided guidance for realizing this aim. Likewise, Ilmatar requires that all subcontractors, intermediaries and other stakeholders working for or with Ilmatar, regardless of whether they have a direct contract with Ilmatar or not, commit to following this Code.
This Code is based on the central values of Ilmatar, such as high competence, professional representation and cutting edge We strive to excel in our line of business by applying the latest knowledge in our work.
Ilmatar reserves the right to change and update this Code when needed.
Fair working conditions and human rights
Ilmatar commits to promoting human rights in accordance with the United Nations’ guiding principles on business and human rights, internationally adopted human rights and employee rights stated in the general definition of human rights as well as the eight fundamental International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions on the basic principles and rights concerning employment.
We are committed to guaranteeing fair working conditions for all of our employees. In addition, we expect our supplier chains to follow the same principles. To this end, we monitor the implementation of the principles.
We do not accept forced labor or child labor, and we respect employees’ right to organize. We promote diversity and an inclusive company culture that enables everyone to use their voice and to be heard.
Safety, the environment and stakeholder groups
We strive to contribute to the fight against climate change and promote responsible usage of natural resources. Since 2021, Ilmatar has regularly followed up and analyzed the greenhouse gas emissions generated by its activities (including emission from construction). We comply with all applicable environmental regulations and continuously look for ways to reduce our CO2 footprint. We are in contact with local stakeholder groups and actors at various phases of our work to ensure that we understand our stakeholders’ priorities and are able to react to their worries.
Safety is pivotal to us, and we are firmly committed to ensuring that the working conditions for all our employees are as safe as possible. We actively engage our employees in our safety work and regularly evaluate risks and risk management options.
Anti-discrimination
We promote equality among all our employees, subcontractors and stakeholder groups and do not tolerate any discrimination or harassment. We ensure that people are treated equally and that employees can report any violations of this principle without fearing retribution.
Anti-corruption and adhering to rules on competition
We exercise zero tolerance of bribing and corruption, and we neither offer bribes nor carry out unlawful payments to authorities or other parties. We do not advise others to offer bribes or to accept bribes on our behalf.
We treat our business partners professionally, fairly and equally based on objective factors, and do not let our personal preferences or interests influence our position. We communicate truthfully and transparently with our clients, suppliers and other interest groups, and we refrain from impacting their decisions through undue payments or benefits.
We believe in honest competition and comply with competition legislation without exceptions.
Anti-money laundering and trade sanctions
We prohibit supporting or furthering the financing of terrorism or money laundering. We expect all our clients and arrangements to be critically and thoroughly screened. We are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations as well as all binding economic and trade sanctions.
Confidentiality and personal data
We take precautions to handle confidential information entrusted to us with utmost care in keeping with relevant contracts and legislation, and ensure confidentiality. We are compliant with applicable legislation regarding insider information in the European energy market, such as the REMIT regulatory framework, which enables open and fair competition in the market. When it comes to handling personal data and sharing data with third parties, we comply with applicable laws and regulations without exception.
Legislative compliance
As a company, we are compliant with and expect all our employees to comply with the applicable legislation and professional regulations of our field. We do not participate in business transactions, investments or other activities whose aim is to circumvent or avoid taxes or to gain undue tax advantages in an unlawful way.
We urge our employees and other actors within our sphere of influence to promptly report any suspicions of misconduct.
Misconduct or suspicions of misconduct shall be reported to: compliance@ilmatar.fi. Our Legal and Compliance department handles all complaints impartially and professionally, without any undue delay.
