If you want to launch a future career within offshore wind power on Åland, you need to gain expertise today – and to this end, you might need financial support.
The Ilmatar Offshore scholarship may be applied for by all students at the Åland University of Applied Sciences who wish to deepen their competence by attending seminars or conferences or carry out vocational training or apprenticeships within offshore wind (OSW) projects.
Besides benefiting students, this scholarship is a positive response to the global demand for skilled professionals within renewable energy.
The Ilmatar Offshore scholarship was founded to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the autonomy of the Åland Islands in June 2022.
If any details in the application are difficult to determine at the time being, students can turn to Ilmatar Offshore for advice. We can also assist with contacts to wind power companies, educational actors, wind parks, etc. However, we prefer that the student carries out as much of the preparations as possible.
A completed application shall be submitted to Ilmatar through the link provided on this page. We reply to applicants as soon as possible. If the motivational statement is deemed to fulfil our ambition of promoting offshore wind power and the applicant is deemed suitable for building a career within the sector, the scholarship will be granted without delay.
